I really enjoyed my stay... the room was great, very comfortable and the bed was awesome! I think my room was just renovated so everything still smelled like new! There is not much around to eat so be sure to stop a a grocery store and stock up on some bottles of water and snacks. Of course, you can even buy stuff to cook a little meal! If I return to the area, I will stay here again! The resort is incredibly clean, and the staff is very friendly. The food is quite tasty. The rooms are clean, but are a bit on the warm side. Hopefully, they'll work some of the kinks out. Yes, I would stay here again. Yes, I would recommend it to folks looking to relax. It happened to be a sunny evening and my wife and I met for a drink and light snack. There was a band playing that was good entertainment. We sat out on the deck and the service was almost "non existence " at first. I had to go into the bar to order and get our drinks. We only ordered a salad and pepper fries. The dip for the fries was good, the fries arrived cold and oily. The summer salad was soggy and all wilted like it had been sitting by a stove or something??? I gave 4 stars only because the people sitting across from us had asked about the food and we told them what we thought and she took the fries back in and must have complained to someone and brought us two complimentary drinks. Otherwise it probably would only be 3 stars. Beautiful lodge amazing view across the lake and friendly staff make a visit for a meal and drink at the MatSu Resort a wonderful almost nostalgic stop in your day. Great place with really good food/service at the restaurant. Room was clean and cozy. Will definitely stay here again when in town.
